Greetings,
October 16th is World Food Day and in acknowledgment the Waldorf School of Baltimore will be hosting a weeklong food drive. Starting Monday the 15th you will find a large box in the lobby in which you can drop off any variety of non-perishable foods. The drive will be held from Monday thru Friday, and your offerings will be taken to the Maryland Food Bank to feed Baltimore’s hungry.
All non-perishable food is welcome, and below is a list of the most needed items (including non-food items):
Meat and protein
- canned meat, ham and chicken
- peanut butter
- macaroni and cheese
- canned stews
- canned tuna, salmon and sardines
- nuts and seeds
- dried canned beans
Breads and cereals
- oatmeal
- breakfast cereal
- rice and rice cakes
- pasta
Fruits and vegetables
- canned fruits and juices
- canned vegetables
- canned soup
- sauces/salad dressing
Dairy foods
- evaporated milk
- powdered milk
- infant formula
- puddings and custards
Non-food items
- diapers
- toilet paper
- plastic/paper plates and cups
- sanitary napkins and tampons
In addition, you can donate food virtually (and double your food purchasing power) through the Maryland Food Bank’s WEBSITE.
